TransLivesMatter

The sketch on this blog entry was inspired by the hard-working members of the TransLatina Coalition
(see there site HERE ) who i was introduced to through my friend and muse Johanna Saavedra.
They are selling teeshirts (see the photo below) to raise money for the orginization. If you are interested in supporting transgender equality and rights, make sure you go to their site and donate, or purchase one of their shirts!

Fun With Shading featuring Vaniity

As an artist, most of my abilities are self-taught, and one of the most important things i had to learn was the ability to shade! I can not express how important it is to learn such a vital aspect of art. I thought i would post 2 versions of the same drawing, one with, and one without shading. i think its pretty easy to see which drawing looks better! Also thought i would post the photo that inspired the drawing, cause one can never have enough photos of the gorgeous Vaniity <3

The Short Question: Tawni Bonds

Name:  Tawni Katherine Bonds

Age:  Old enough to know better, young enough to not care!

Do you have a website? I do:  Tawnibonds.com

What is the website address? Tawnibonds.com

How did you first come across my art? I made friends with you on the internet and you very shyly showed me one of your drawings.  I was so impressed with the lines, the image, the sensuality, the beauty and sensitivity of what you drew…  I am just so glad that you have opened up and let the rest of the world see your amazing art.

What comic company is your fav?  The one that has super girl and wonder woman!  They’re hot.

Favorite Comic Character?  For me it is the girls in the Archie comics… they first got me wondering and wanting to be a femme fatale…Betty and veronica… I always wanted to be Veronica and never understood why she was looked down upon… she was sexy, stylish and beautiful.

If you could have a super-power what would you want? The ability to shape change  so I could always be curvy and amazing – if that doesn’t count as a super power then I would want to be able to read minds… if that doesn’t count then flying.

Latex or Leather?  Definitely Leather

If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would you choose and why?  Marilyn Monroe so I could try to understand her to know if she really knew the power she had or was just faking it – being naieve or just playing people.

Favorite Color?  Purple.

If someone made a movie about your life, who would you choose to play yourself?  A young Jane Fonda or Nicole Kidman

Do you have any nick-names?  Kat

Johanna As Captain America

As a long time comic book fan, one of my fav's has always been Captain America. He was actually one of the very first characters i started collecting way back in 1989. I actually still own the issue that started my Cap collection, and they will always be in my long boxes. In a conversation with my friend Johanna I found out that she was also a fan of Cap's, so i couldn't resist doing a sketch of her in a sexy version of the red, white, and blue! i think she suits the costume perfectly.

The Short Question: Amarantha LaBlanche

Name: Amarantha LaBlanche

Age: 28

Do you have a website?
Yes!

What is the website address? Http://rubberroyale.com

How did you first come across my art?
I've virtually met you for the first time on IMVU where we talked and figured we had a lot of common interests.
Back then I didn't even know you were an artist. Over the years social media evolved and so did our friendship! Then your beautiful drawings caught my attention, and it's always a pleasure to see them appear in my newsfeed. I was lucky to be the subject of your artwork a couple of times too.

What comic company is your fav?
Marvel

Favorite Comic Character?
Without a doubt that's Psylocke! When I were a kid I had recurring dreams in which I were a superheroine and had superpowers.
I was able to control people's minds, make them do things and affect people's memories. I could kill someone with my eyes by just one look.
Sometimes I could fly and I always had excellent fighting skills. That, and amazing latex outfits and pretty long purple hair. (That hair colour I actually had for real for a year or two a couple of years ago!)
Only much later I found out that this superheroine I dreamt to be is actually insanely much like a comic character in the Marvel universe: Psylocke.
I started reading comics because of her, and feel a strong connection to her character.

If you could have a super-power what would you want?
Psylocke's powers.
So that's telekinesis, precognition, the psychic katana/knife, martial arts and telepathy.
Oh and I'd like to fly for sure!

Latex or Leather?
Latex. I love how it hugs my curves like a second skin, and I wish it were my first.
I feel most comfortable in my second skin. The look, the feeling, the shine, the smell..
Leather is okay, I like leather boots, jackets or pants but leather usually makes you look bulky and doesn't fit as tight and slick as latex. Therefore I prefer latex over any material in the world.

If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would you choose and why?
I'd like to have a meal or two with Peter Steele. Something with a very big baguette haha! Alright, I'll stop. ;-)

Favorite Color?
Black. And in latex that'd be translucent mauve.

If someone made a movie about your life, who would you choose to play yourself?
After hours of trying to come up with something I'm afraid this will have to do.
I seriously have no idea, I have never ever thought of this question in my life haha! Well done ;-)

Do you have any nick-names?
People usually call me Ama or Amy, my best friends call me 'vlam' which means flame in Dutch, and sometimes I'm Bella. (And nope, not the gracious Italian flattery, it's meant to be a dog's name. LOL)
